Field Trip to the company Spy! I spy…

February 9th, 2011 a group of our Junior DSA class went to San Francisco to visit a company called Spy. Before we went to visit the company we looked at their website and it looked interesting. I got to learn a couple new things about what they do. But when actually go to go there and get a tour around there, it was actually very interesting. I got to learn many things about the company and what they do.

Going on this trip really helped me a lot. It helped me experience more different types of media jobs. And it really opened my eyes to thinking about working in the media field. It gave me different opportunities to see what other type of media jobs are out there. And how they all work. It really helped me think about my future career. Overall, I enjoyed this visit. It was really fun and interesting.

Having this experience was really helpful. I know not to procrastinate because that really made me stress a lot. It took a while for our group to figure things out, and it did take me a while to see who’ll be the leader of the group. It was really stressful at times, but i learned how to get by. I got to experience group projects like this, and presentations with judges. This project experience was helpful, it taught me from my mistakes, so that next time  I know what i need to work on. But im glad the project is finally over! less stress! (:

Career Exploration Reflection Essay

Our group went on a field trip to Beyond Pix Studio in San Francisco. Before the career exploration visit, i thought there was going to be cubicles. I also thought the entrance would have looked more like a business company. I was really surprised when we got inside because it was pretty big and at first it didn’t look like a studio from the outside. But when we got it, it was amazing! I was really surprised. There’s a couple things that i didn’t know about. So i was really glad to learn about the studio and what they do.

This trip really helped a lot. Our tour guide really explained everything clearly and gave us a lot of information about Beyond Pix Studio. So it was really helpful to me. I learned that it takes passion just to get into the media or entertainment industry. Going to Beyond Pix was a lot better than I had expected it to be, because I honestly thought it was just gonna be a regula company with cubicles. But I was wrong. I liked how everyone was so lively there and they all worked together. One thing I wished I could have seen was getting the chance to see them on set shooting a commercial. I was really expecting that.

I’m glad I went on this trip because this trip was really helpful. it was good going to Beyond Pix because it was based on media and DSA is a multimedia class so this trip made it helpful for us. I learned a lot on this trip, got to experience how its like in the media industry and see how everything works. I also got to see what kind of jobs they offer and learn that everyone has their own specific type of job like editing or producing. I really did get to learn a lot from this trip, this trip was really really helpful to me. It gave me the opportunity to see how the media industry works and how everyone cooperates with each other. Going on this trip really inspired me and got me thinking about working in some sort of entertainment or media industry. And it was really fun too! I had a great time! [:

College Visit Reflective Essay !

We went on a field trip to U.C. Berkeley on February 17. I thought the field trip was exciting getting to learn more about the college. I really didn’t have U.C. Berkeley on my list of  what college to go to, but after the visit, I had second thoughts. There was a couple things i expected to see and learn about. And I was definitely surprised about a lot of things. Going on this trip made me learn some things about the students, classes, the dorms, and how it’s like on campus.

What I expected more on this trip was actually go in some of the buildings and learn about it. I also thought they would have shown us how the dorms are, so that some of us know if this is the college we would want to go to. I definitely thought the tour guide could have explained the cost and financial aid a little more, because he/she really didn’t talk about it, or go into full details. I’m sure some of us would like to know the cost of it. I really didn’t expect to see that many people on campus. I expected to go inside maybe some classes to see how the classes are. But other than that those were the main things I expected on this trip.

What definitely surprised me on this tip was that there was a lot of libraries on campus. And about 10 million books total on campus. That’s a good thing because there are so many different books you can search for and it would be a big help if you had to do a research. I was also surprised how everyone is so lively there. Everyone seemed like they were having a lot of fun. The campus is also really huge! There was a lot of people. I was also surprised that most of the students look really young. There was many things that surprised me on this trip.

Overall, going to U.C. Berkeley was exciting. I got to learn a lot of things about college. And it really made me have second thoughts about that college. Although, I still could have expected see more and learn more. But going on this trip helped a lot. There were things definitely surprised me. I got to learn a lot from the tour. And I got to see how it’s like there. This trip was really helpful to me.

Finals !

Learning photoshop was really coooool ! we got to learn how to edit pictures and make them look better . we even got to repair old pictures using photoshop ! i got to learn how to blend pictures together .  For the graphic design , we made an i am from poem , tryptic. it was really fun putting all the pictures together to match us . Then we got to learn how to take pictures . like how to take really good pictures like a photographer . We’ve been working on the hoof project little by little . It was really coool , putting the pictures together . & trying to find a song or make a song to match our story . & of course we used photoshop to edit our family pictures . we used final cut pro to put the who story together , like the recording we made , music , & the pictures . it was really coool putting the pictures in sequence . After that , we learned how to use bryce . which is like a 3D designer . we got to learn how to make arches , putting lights into the scene . or changing the scene to make it look better  . Learning all this was pretty fun ![:
